If I Kill Tapu Koko Can I Encounter It Again
From Bulbapedia, the customs-driven Pokémon encyclopedia.
The Ultra Beasts (Japanese: ウルトラビースト Ultra Beast) are a grouping of extradimensional Pokémon originating from Ultra Space. They possess ability that transcends humans' understanding of the globe.
Ultra Beasts infrequently announced from Ultra Wormholes in Alola. These appearances are apparently as unexpected for the Ultra Beasts equally for Alolans, which tends to make them antagonistic. They are specially drawn to people who take passed through an Ultra Wormhole, due to the residual wormhole energy on them, plain expecting to detect a wormhole they can use to return habitation.
There are currently eleven known Ultra Beasts:
- Nihilego (codenamed UB-01 Symbiont)
- Buzzwole (codenamed UB-02 Absorption) S Us
- Pheromosa (codenamed UB-02 Beauty) Yard UM
- Xurkitree (codenamed UB-03 Lighting)
- Celesteela (codenamed UB-04 Blaster) Chiliad UM
- Kartana (codenamed UB-04 Blade) S United states of america
- Guzzlord (codenamed UB-05 Glutton)
- Poipole (codenamed UB Adhesive) United states of america UM
- Naganadel (codenamed UB Stinger) US UM
- Stakataka (codenamed UB Assembly) UM
- Blacephalon (codenamed UB Burst) US
All Ultra Beasts share the Power Brute Boost.
When encountered in the wild, the residual energy from Ultra Wormholes manifests as a red aura that boosts ane of their stats at the get-go of battle, like to a Totem Pokémon's orange aura. Wicke theorizes that they store this energy in their bodies.
Most Poké Assurance have difficulty recognizing Ultra Beasts equally Pokémon due to their extradimensional origins, impairing their ability to effectively catch them. However, Animal Balls are exceptions due to being Poké Balls specifically designed to grab Ultra Beasts, and they are instead ineffective against Pokémon that are not Ultra Beasts. The Main Brawl is unaffected by this damage due to its ability to take hold of any Pokémon without neglect, even Ultra Beasts.
Although Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma are not Ultra Beasts, they have a strong connexion to Ultra Space (including the power to create Ultra Wormholes) and as a result are oftentimes claimed to be or likened to the Ultra Beasts in diverse media.
- The Aether Foundation has hypothesized Cosmog is also an Ultra Animal, due to its ability to create Ultra Wormholes.
- Necrozma's Pokédex entry also states that it is "reminiscent of the Ultra Beasts", but the International Police reported that all Ultra Beasts it had detected had been caught even while Necrozma was even so in the wild.
- Dulse refers to Necrozma as "a beast almost like an Ultra Beast" in Pokémon Ultra Dominicus.
- Beast Balls are ineffective confronting all of them, like they are for other Pokémon that are not Ultra Beasts.
- In Trading Card Game, Sunset Mane Necrozma, Dawn Wings Necrozma and Ultra Necrozma are all labeled as Ultra Beasts (simply not base of operations Necrozma).
- In the anime, the Aether Foundation, mistaking Necrozma for an Ultra Beast, gives it the codename "UB Black".
History
Although an extremely rare event, legends in Alola tell of fearsome Pokémon appearing from Ultra Wormholes. The legends as well tell that the guardian deities would fight fiercely confronting them.
Years prior to the events of Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, Professor Mohn published a theory on Ultra Wormholes and papers describing Nihilego.
The Aether Foundation conducted research on the Ultra Beasts, including the Beast Killer project to create a Pokémon based on Arceus that could fight against Ultra Beasts, known as Type: Total. The Beast Killer project ended in failure, and the 3 known Type: Full were cryogenically frozen and their names changed to Type: Null. The foundation too successfully developed the Beast Ball to take hold of the Ultra Beasts.
The International Police force have as well tracked Ultra Beasts in the by and into the nowadays under a secret partition known equally the UB Job Forcefulness. The UB Task Force is tasked with investigating the ecology of Ultra Beasts, protecting people from damage from them, and either safeguarding or destroying the Ultra Beasts. Ten years prior to the events of Sunday and Moon, a three-person team composed of Looker, Nanu, and an unnamed Faller came to Alola to track down and destroy a Guzzlord; in the process, the Faller was killed. The International Constabulary refers to each of the Ultra Beasts past code names.
The outset reported sightings of Buzzwole, Pheromosa, Xurkitree, Kartana, and Celesteela were afterwards the incident at Aether Paradise in which Lusamine forced Cosmog to create an Ultra Wormhole and used it to travel to Ultra Space, during the events of Sunday and Moon.

In some missions, at that place are multiple of the same species of Ultra Beast to be captured, and in some missions they may exist found at either of 2 locations. When the player is in an area where there are Ultra Beasts during a mission, the music changes from the area's normal score.
All Poké Balls except Principal Assurance and Brute Balls take a catch rate multiplier of 0.1× against Ultra Beasts; the Beast Brawl has a catch rate multiplier of 5× for Ultra Beasts. If a Beast Ball is used confronting whatever other type of Pokémon, its grab rate multiplier is 0.one×.
